Abstract: To maintain cognitive functioning throughout the lifespan, building and/or extending brain structural and functional reserves are considered key. The topic of this presentation is health, lifestyle and genetic factors that enhance or reduce either structural and/or functional reserves across the life span, including results from a 5-year RCT, exercise intervention study, in septuagenarians.
